Police record statements from six individuals on burning of JPJ vehicles

IPOH: Police have recorded statements from six individuals to assist in the investigation into the burning incident involving five vehicles at the Road Transport Department (JPJ) Lorry Weighing Enforcement Station in Kuala Kangsar on Feb 6.
Kuala Kangsar district police chief, ACP Ahmad Termizi Abd Haq said all the individuals included JPJ staff and members of the public who were witnesses to the incident.
"So far we have not made any arrest but the police are still carrying out intelligence and further investigation to track down the suspects concerned," he said.
He disclosed this to reporters when met at the launching of the motorcycles for the Mobile Patrol Unit (URB) and the Four-Wheel Drive Vehicles for the Light Strike Force (LSF) at the parade ground of the Perak Police Contingent Headquarters, here today.
Commenting further, Ahmad Termizi said the police had yet to receive information on the full report from the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), Perak on the incident.
On Feb 6, the media reported that three JPJ vehicles and two vehicles belonging to members of the public were believed burnt at the JPJ Lorry Weighing Enforcement Station, Kuala Kangsar. — Bernama
