Six, including students, injured in Yala bombing

YALA: Three female students and three local security volunteers were injured when a bomb exploded near a primary school in the Muang district in Yala, south Thailand today.
Yala Police Chief Major Gen Krissada Keawjandee, said the bombing at 7.30 am local time occurred just as the schoolchildren were going into Pracha Uthi Primary School in Benang Sareng District.
"Two of the three security volunteers suffered serious injuries while the three schoolchildren suffered slight injuries and were sent to Yala Hospital for treatment," Krissada told reporters today.
To date, nobody has claimed responsibility for the incident.
The bombing this morning follows an armed attack on a security post in Takpoyak District in Yinga, Narathiwat at 11.30 pm two nights ago, but there were no injuries. — Bernama
