Najib attends Gerakan CNY open house

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak and wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor attended the Chinese New Year open house organised by the party Gerakan at Bangunan PGRM, Cheras here today.
Najib and Rosmah were greeted on arrival by the Gerakan top leadership lineup led by its president Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong to the accompaniment of a lion dance performance.
The prime minister and wife later mingled with the visitors present comprising almost 4,000 members of the various communities.
Meanwhile Rosmah, accompanied by the Gerakan president's wife, Datin Seri Yeoh Pooi Hoon also handed out gifts to 30 orphans from various welfare organisations around the Klang Valley.
The guests were entertained to an orchestra performance rendering Chinese New Year songs and lion dances.
Also present were Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, former MIC president Tun S. Samy Vellu, Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor, MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai and MIC president Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam. — Bernama
