Three men drown in Sungai Sendat waterfalls (Updated)

KUALA LUMPUR: The joy of two siblings and their five friends who spent the Chinese New Year holidays picnicking at the Sungai Sendat waterfalls in Ulu Yam, Kuala Kubu Baru today, ended in tragedy when both of them, along with another friend, drowned.
Kuala Kubu Baru Fire and Rescue Station Chief Kamil Hamadan said the victims were B. Nagulan, 20, his brother B. Peacaiswaran, 25, from Alor Star, Kedah, and G. Ganesan, 23, from Port Klang, Selangor.
He said two of the victims slipped into the waterfall before the third person who tried to help them also fell into the bottom of the river.
“The bodies were brought out from the bottom of the waterfalls at 12.50pm and were taken to Kuala Kubu Baru Hospital for post-mortem,” he told Bernama when contacted.
Kamil said the group of friends, which included two girls, arrived at the waterfalls from Port Klang at about 10.45am.
Meanwhile, Hulu Selangor District Police Chief Supt Lim Bak Phai said the case has been classified as sudden death. — Bernama
