Ahmad Zahid visits good friend on CNY

BAGAN DATUK: Visiting his family friend Beh Song Wan is a must for Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi for the Chinese New Year celebration at Taman Desa Bersatu, Hutan Melintang this morning.
Beh, 55, who is a close friend of Ahmad Zahid since 27 years ago, had prepared dishes such as cat fishhead curry, giant prawns, 'pecal', fried noodles, 'pulut panggang' and mandarin oranges for Ahmad Zahid and 200 other visitors.
Ahmad Zahid, who is also Bagan Datuk Member of Parliament, arrived at about 10.10am and spent about half an hour at Beh's home while touching base with Beh's family members.
The number two national leader was also feted with the mixing of the 'yee sang pecal' with Beh's family members including his mother, Cheah Seoh Lian, 77, who is the adopted mother of Ahmad Zahid.
Beh who was amiably called 'Bujang' by Ahmad Zahid, when met by reporters said Ahmad Zahid's presence was very meaningful because he never missed the opportunity to visit his family during the Chinese New Year celebration.
"I enjoy it, even when he was busy, he never missed a chance to visit us on Chinese New Year. This is the fifth time he came after we moved to a new home and before this he only came to visit us at the shop," he said. — Bernama
