Four-year-old drowns in bathroom tub, younger sibling fights for life

IPOH: A four-year-old boy drowned in a tub of water, while his younger brother is fighting for his life at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital's Intensive Care Unit here today.
The deceased was identified as Alif Rizqi Muhammad Redzuan from Bandar Sri Permaisuri, Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.
His two-year-old brother Muhammad Aqil Rayyan Muhammad Redzuan is receiving treatment at the hospital.
Ipoh City Police chief ACP Mohd Ali Tamby said: "Family members were preparing lunch and breakfast when the tragedy struck.
"The siblings were playing, and then their grandmother suspected something amiss when it all went quiet suddenly.
The shocked grandmother found the boys in the toilet of her home in Maju Light Industrial area in Jelapang, here at 10am on Friday.
"The woman later found them in the tub and rushed the siblings to the hospital," he said.
"The deceased was declared dead at 10.15am, after a cardiopulmonary resuscitation exercise and other emergency treatments failed to resuscitate him," he added.
