Couple dies in four-vehicle accident in Kota Tinggi

KOTA TINGGI: A husband and wife died in a traffic accident involving four vehicles at KM 36, Jalan Johor Baru-Mersing near the road entering Taman Daiman Jaya, near here yesterday afternoon.
Edil Azhar Abdul Rahman @ Mohamed, 39, and his wife, Noraziah Mohamad Ali, 36, were in a Perodua Kancil car and were believed to be on their way home in Felda Pasak, here.
Kota Tinggi District Police Chief, Supt Ahsmon Bajah when contacted confirmed the incident.
He said that in the incident at about 4.45 pm, a Proton Bezza car from the direction of Kota Tinggi heading towards Johor Bahru had entered into the opposite lane and collided with the Perodua Kancil carrying the couple.
"Also involved in the collision were another Perodua Kancil and a Honda Accord which came from the direction of Johor Baru heading toward Kota Tinggi.
"The collision resulted in the driver and front passenger of the Perodua Kancil being killed at the scene due to bodily injuries," he said in a statement here today.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Proton Bezza sustained light injury while the driver of another Proton Kancil and Honda Accord were not injured.
"Preliminary investigation revealed that the collision was believed to be caused by negligence from the driver of the Proton Bezza," he said. — Bernama
