POPULAR “online cashback platform”, ShopBack, recently shared interesting and valuable information about its “users” based on data from the digital transactions on its website. Some of its observations from its positive performance in Q4 2017 include:

> Almost 20% more digital transactions were recorded through ShopBackMalaysia than its Singapore counterpart. ShopBackMalaysia has experienced more than twice the growth – looking at January figures, 2018 versus 2017. Data shows that when it comes to savings, Malaysians are more “aggressive”.
> In 2017, more than 30 online merchants joined ShopBack Malaysia to provide “cashback” as a form of loyalty reward – adding to its over 500 merchants who offer up to 30% cashback (cashback percentage increases during festive periods);
> Enjoys market presence in Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia, Taiwan, Thailand, Australia and Malaysia, hitting regional sales of over RM120 million per month (1,000 orders per hour).
> Total cashback awarded (Sept 2014 to Sept 2017) – close to RM60 million.
ShopBackMalaysia’s country general manager Alvin Gill (pix) also highlighted some of the new features and not-to-be-missed promotions its customers should take advantage of.
Says Gill, “Data shows that Malaysians increasingly choose ShopBack as a convenient way to accumulate cashback for every transaction. Considering factors like petrol price hikes and subsequent increase in lifestyle and food costs – these have urged Malaysians to optimise their spending in every possible way.
“And we’re glad that ShopBack is able to help more than 850,000 Malaysians in getting over RM25 million cashback from their digital purchases, including Grab and Uber, over the past three years.”
During the company’s anniversary, which is today, Feb 22, Gill says that there will be products on 100% epic cashback sale throughout the week.
“ We will be giving away a total of RM18,000 to three lucky winners who spend on Lazada, Nike, Taobao, Booking.com, Photobook, Expedia, Hermo, Cotton-On, Sephora, Zalora, and so on. Through ShopBack. We are also giving out higher cashback today,”Gill informed.
Now ShopBack has additional user-centric features on its website eg. partial cashback, to help customers make better purchasing decisions that are convenient, rewarding and secure.
Visit www.shopback.my or its Facebook page for more information. Adds Gill, ShopBack’s triple-win business concept might earn the company a little less but by sharing its commission with its users through cashback and considering its partner merchants business needs, “these are what will help us go a long way”.
