Field fix campaign for Mitsubishi cars

MITSUBISHI Motors Malaysia (MMM) is requesting for owners of Mitsubishi Lancer and Outlander imported from Japan and also the locally-assembled ASX to replace the engine control relay of their vehicles. Overall affected cars are about 5,000 units.
The models and their manufacturing years are:
    - ASX Compact SUV: March 2015 – Nov 2016.
    - Lancer Saloon: Dec 2014 – Feb 2016.
    - Outlander SUV: Dec 2015 – June 2016.
The relay protects the engine’s ECU from any sudden surge of voltage. If it is not replaced, the internal parts of the relay may fail and subsequently affect the engine’s ECU function,” says MMM.
Separately, MMM will also be conducting a Field Fix Campaign to replace the passenger side airbag inflator for 115 units of Pajero Exceed manufactured from March 2010 to July 2012.
“Some of the driver airbags may release metal fragments when deployed causing injuries to the driver. This exercise is part of the Takata airbag recall campaign worldwide.
“Safety is our utmost priority thus MMM is taking this initiative to assure customer’s safety and regrets the inconvenience caused to the affected customers,” said MMM CEO, Tomoyuki Shinnishi.
MMM will issue notification letters to all affected Mitsubishi owners and the full cost of the replacement will be borne by the company. “We request all affected customers to make an appointment at any of the Mitsubishi Motors authorised service centres for the replacement of the above.”
