MAIPS contributes RM1.45m for three educational institutions in Perlis

KANGAR: The Perlis Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPs) contributed RM1.45 million to three religious educational institutions in the state, including two under the Pertubuhan Himpunan Lepasan Institusi Pendidikan Malaysia (HULUAN) .
The Raja Muda Perlis, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, who is also MAIPs president, handed over the contribution to the recipients at a ceremony at Surau Ma'ahad Attarbiyah Al-Islamiyah (MATRI) Tunjung, Beseri, near here yesterday.
MATRI is one of the educational institutions under HULUAN which received the contribution, The other is Sekolah Rendah Attarbiyah Al-Islamiyah (SRAATI), which is registered as a "Sekolah Agama Rakyat" under MAIPs.
The third recipient of the contribution is a private education institution, Institut Pengajian Tinggi Islam Perlis (IPTIPs).
MATRI and SRAATI were represented by their headmasters, Omar Salleh and Ishak Osman, respectively while IPTIPs, by its director, Prof Dr Ismail Jusoh.
Also present were MAIPs chief executive officer Mohd Nazim Mohd Noor and HULUAN adviser Datuk Prof Dr Ahmad Yusoff Hassan, who is also a member of IPTIPs board of directors. — Bernama
