JOHOR BARU: The Region Two Marine Police Force (PPM) have seized 21 prawn traps in the waters of Sungai Rengit, near Kota Tinggi, yesterday.
Its commander, ACP Paul Khiu Khon Chiangm said the seizure was carried out by PPM personnel on two patrol boats conducting Op Pensura in the area from 2pm to 6pm.
"The seizure was made to protect the national sea resources and ecology," he said in a statement here today.
Khiu said no arrests were made and PPM had handed the case to the Fisheries Department for further action. — Bernama
