PETALING JAYA: Rapper Namewee (pix) has been remanded by the police over investigations into his controversial video.
The administrator of his Facebook page posted a statement today saying that the controversial rapper was arrested after he went to Bukit Aman to give his statement in regards to his controversial video clip titled Like A Dog.
"I am not afraid because I believe the country has justice," Namewee said.
Police had previously said they were tracking down Namewee as the video allegedly offended the feelings and sensitivities of the multi-racial community in the country.
On Sunday, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said the police had opened investigation papers into Namewee with regard to his video clip.
Mohamad Fuzi said the case was being investigated under Section 298 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
The dog theme in the video was in conjunction with the Chinese Year of the Dog.
The controversial rapper said that the video was shot by the side of the main road in Putrajaya, with the Prime Minister's Office a kilometre away in the background.
