Difficult for PAS to capture Perlis: Shahidan

ARAU: The intention by PAS to capture Perlis in the 14th general election (GE14) is something that is not within the party's reach, said Perlis Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Dr Shahidan Kassim.
"BN will win 100%, not 80% (because) we are really working hard, to campaign alone does not work," he told reporters after attending the Arau MCA Chinese New Year celebration here today.
He said this in response to a news report in a PAS daily recently quoting PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang as saying that PAS would strive to defend Kelantan and win in Terengganu, Kedah, Perlis and Selangor this coming general election.
Shahidan, who is also Perlis Umno Liaison Committee chairman said, PAS would not succeed in capturing Perlis or the country because the party did not have the support of the people, and is not accepted in Sabah and Sarawak.
On the support of Chinese voters for BN, he said it was getting stronger.
"The Chinese voters are always with BN, only that last time, they were influenced by the various allegations by the opposition," he said. — Bernama
