Semporna Umno gives away free petrol

SEMPORNA: Semporna Umno today gave away free petrol to some 400 motorists and motorcyclists at a Shell station in the district this morning.
The one-hour free refueling programme which started from 9am, saw motorists enjoying 9 litres of free petrol while motorcyclists riding 150cc bikes and below were given full tank refills.
Semporna Umno Youth acting head, Ahmad Marzuki Nasir said the programme was aimed at relieving the financial burden of people in the district, in line with the aspirations of the Barisan Nasional government.
"We will continue with the programme from time to time as we are committed to helping the rakyat," he said when met by Bernama here.
Also present was Semporna Umno division acting head, Datuk Seri Nasir Tun Sakaran.
Meanwhile, motorist Uddin Maul, 48, said he hoped the programme would be held more often as it would ease the burden of low income earners, especially gardeners like him.
Another motorist, Sundusian Noorpai, 50, said the government had always been giving various forms of assistance which showed their concern for the welfare of the people. — Bernama
