Former Bernama GM Mohd Raus dies

SEREMBAN: Former Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) general manager Mohd Raus Borhan, 71, died at the Tuanku Jaafar Hospital (HTJ) here today following a stroke.
His younger brother, Anuar Borhan, said Mohd Raus breathed last at 3.45 am.
"The funeral prayer will be at Paroi Jaya Mosque here and his remains will buried at the Tuan Haji Said Cemetery near here," he told Bernama here today.
Mohd Raus, from Kuala Pilah, was admitted to the hospital last Dec.
An economics graduate from Universiti Malaya, Mohd Raus joined Bernama on March 11, 1991, as general manager.
Prior to joining Bernama, Mohd Raus was an assistant director at the Finance Ministry (1969 to 1973) and then joined Hongkong and Shanghai Bank, before joining Petronas in 1979 as deputy manager at its Corporate Planning Unit.
In 1981, he joined United Asian Bank as deputy general manager and left in 1989 when he opted for the Violuntary separation Scheme (VSS).
He was awarded the Johan Setia Mahkota (J.S.M.) by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong in 1995 and left Bernama on March 10, 1998. — Bernama
