Kerjaya Prospek's Q4 profit up 9.4% on better construction segment

    PETALING JAYA: Kerjaya Prospek Group Bhd registered a 9.4% rise in net profit to RM28.31 million for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2017 against RM25.87 million in the previous corresponding period, driven by substantial order book in the construction segment.
    Revenue expanded 10.4% from RM228.82 million to RM252.66 million.
    The group said as at current financial year, the total additional secured order book is RM1.4 billion, bringing the total outstanding order book to RM3 billion.
    Moving forward, it sees the construction segment continuing as the main revenue driver for the group.
    For the property segment, Kerjaya Prospek continues to pursue both high rise and landed development projects from domestic markets.
    In addition, it said the group's maiden project - Vista Residences also recorded an encouraging take-up rate with current unbilled sales of about RM71 million.
    The group said it is cautiously optimistic on its overall businesses moving forward and will continue to sharpen it competitive edge to achieve sustainable growth in the market.
    Kerjaya Prospek’s full-year net earnings went up 24.9% from RM99.62 million to RM124.47 million, while revenue grew 19.7% from RM798.69 million to RM956.02 million.
    The stock fell 2 sen or 1.1% to close at RM1.74 on some 3.4 million shares traded.
