Namewee out on police bail

KUALA LUMPUR: Rapper Namewee has been released after his four-day remand ended today.
The 34-year-old was released on police bail at around 1pm at Dang Wangi district police headquarters
However sources said the investigation pertaining to his controversial video entitled "Like A Dog" by the Bukit Aman police is ongoing.
The controversial rapper, whose real name is Wee Meng Chee, was arrested last Thursday after having his statement recorded at Bukit Aman police headquarters.
The case was being investigated under Section 298 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
Earlier Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said that police will submit the investigation paper (IP) on the case to the Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) today.
The video's dog theme was in conjunction with the Chinese Year of the Dog.
The controversial musician said that the video was shot by the side of a main road in Putrajaya, with the Prime Minister's Office a kilometre away in the background.
