PETALING JAYA: The police will submit the investigation paper (IP) on the case of controversial Rapper Namewee's video clip entitled "Like A Dog" to the Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) today.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said the police will decide on the next course of action based on AGC's recommendation.
"Namewee's remand is expiring today. We will look into his remand extension. We will take an appropriate action," he told reporters after attending Bukit Aman monthly assembly here today.
Last week, police said they were tracking down Namewee as the video allegedly offended the feelings and sensitivities of the multi-racial community in the country.
Mohamad Fuzi had said that the police had opened up investigation papers on Namewee with regard to his video clip.
Namewee was arrested last Thursday after having his statement recorded at Bukit Aman police headquarters.
The case was being investigated under Section 298 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
The video's dog theme was in conjunction with the Chinese Year of the Dog.
The controversial musician said that the video was shot by the side of a main road in Putrajaya, with the Prime Minister's Office a kilometre away in the background.
