Report to police if offered title for money
KUANTAN: Individuals who receive offers or have information regarding the alleged sale of awards from the Pahang palace are urged to lodge police reports, Pahang State Secretary Datuk Seri Safian Ismail said today.
He added this was especially necessary to assist the police in investigating cases which involved verbal offers.
"Individuals who offer titles through social media are easily traced, we only seek help from those who are contacted discreetly or verbally," he told reporters, here today.
Muhammad Safian added that the state government had also lodged a police report on the matter based on cases known via social media.
Recently, the police detained four individuals including a Datin, for allegedly selling Pahang awards carrying the titles of 'Datuk' and 'Datuk Seri'.
The four, arrested in Kuala Lumpur and Malacca, were understood to be offering the titles on social media for between RM180,000 and RM400,000. — Bernama
