Second-day BWF's hearing starts

    SINGAPORE: The second day of the Badminton World Federation's hearing involving two Malaysian shuttlers who were allegedly involved in match-­fixing starts this morning.
    Both shuttlers were seen arriving with their respective lawyers at Hotel Jen where the hearing was held since Monday, an hour early, from the hearing scheduled time of 10 am.
    The duo are facing six charges each involving match-fixing activities mostly in 2013.
    Two witnesses will be giving their statements today after four other witnesses had done the same on the first day of the hearing.
    Both players are represented by two lawyers each at the two-day hearing which is conducted by a three-member panel from the world body.
    At press time, both Badminton Association of Malaysia and Badminton World Federations are still maintaining the confidentiality such as the name of the two players. — Bernama
