IPOH: One hundred and sixty five employees of Perak Mentri Besar Incorporated (MB Inc) today pledged to protect the secrets of the corporation under the Official Secrets Act 1972.
MB Inc chief executive officer Datuk Aminuddin Hashim said even though there were no occurrences of information leaks, the ceremony was needed as a reminder to all employees to protect the trust given to them.
"The programme is a reminder as some people may take the matter lightly more so in the era when information is available at the finger tips and official secrets could be easily shared.
"If there were no control or reminder such as the function today, it could become a major disaster in future," he told reporters after a MB Inc Employees Pledge ceremony and a briefing on the Official Secrets Act 1972 here, today.
Also present was Perak Malaysian Government chief security officer Norazmi Abdullah. — Bernama
