SUBANG: Several flights at the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport here experienced delays today after a Malindo Air flight from Langkawi experienced a burst tyre upon landing.
Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) said the 4.20pm incident caused the aircraft to be stranded on the runway, leading to temporary closure of the runway.
Efforts to remove the plane from the runway were undertaken immediately after.
"All 33 passengers on board the aircraft had been ferried to the terminal building, followed by their baggage at 5.05pm," MAHB said in a statement today.
According to the company, a total of eights flights were affected by the incident.
"We regret to inform that there was some impact to flights, whereby five Firefly and three Malindo Air flights were diverted during this period."
MAHB said the runway was reopened and resumed normal operations at 6.30pm.
