Motorcyclist killed in accident involving two busses

HULU SELANGOR: A motorcyclist was killed while his wife suffered serious injuries after they were involved in an accident with two buses along Jalan Batang Kali here today.
Hulu Selangor district police chief Supt Lim Bak Phai said the deceased was identified as Suri Cheng Hong, 50.
The incident took place at 1.35pm at KM 15 along Jalan Batang Kali-Genting Highland road.
"The incident occurred when a bus was heading to Penang from Genting Highlands and the other bus which was following behind lost control and veered into the opposite direction.
"The bus which lost control scraped the right side of the other bus and hit the oncoming motorcyclist and pillion rider who then fell into the drain at the side of the road," he said today.
Lim said the motorcyclist died at the scene and his wife, 48, was rushed to Kuala Kubu Baru Hospital due to severe injuries.
"The drivers of both buses have been detained for a urine test and to have their statements recorded by police," he added.
Both buses were carrying 46 passengers in total.
The case is being investigated under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987 for reckless driving and causing death.
In KAMPAR, police arrested two teenagers 15 minutes after the car they were in rammed into a motorcycle patrol unit personnel at a backlane behind Plaza Impiana in Jalan Industri, Taman Bandar Baru Barat on Tuesday.
The 29-year-old lance corporal escaped injuries in the 2am incident.
"The 19-year-old student from UiTM Seri Iskandar and his 18-year-old unemployed female companion from Kampung Tersusun Batu 20-3/4 Batu Karang, Kampar have been remanded for three days to facilitate investigations," Kampar district police chief Supt Ng Kong Soon said.
