KUALA LUMPUR: Students facing a hard time completing their academic papers can now say goodbye to their struggles with the launch of University Malaya's (UM) 'Thesis Easy', an e-graphic handbook on research and academic writing.
The e-book, the first of its kind, was authored by 32 UM students with the aim of providing students with an easily accessible, interactive and comprehensive guidebook to research and academic writing.
Thesis Easy features brief yet well-covered topics on research and academic writing, accompanied with interactive links to videos and other helpful sources on the internet to assist students.
Without restricting it to only UM students, the e-book, published by UMPRESS in collaboration with E-Sentral, is available to the public and is free of charge.
UM's Faculty of Education lecturer and editor of Thesis Easy Adelina Asmawi said the idea to publish the book came after seeing the struggles of students in completing their academic writings.
"As a lecturer, it is disheartening to see students struggling to complete their papers," she said.
We thought that we must do something to help them and thus the idea to publish this book arose," she told theSun at the launching ceremony of Thesis Easy at UM.
She said the launching of the e-book would also see UM following in the steps of other renowned universities in the world in providing free resources.
"By making it free and digitalised, everybody can have access to the book wherever they are, including those who are overseas," she added.
Those interested to make Thesis Easy as their academic partner can find it at www.e-sentral.com.
