Najib closes Terengganu 2018 Expo

KUALA NERUS: Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak today officiated the closing of the Terengganu Expo, 'Molek Doh' at Kompleks Sukan Gong Badak here.
Also present at the ceremony were Terengganu Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman and his wife Toh Puan Seri Halina Zakaria, Deputy Minister of Communications and Multimedia Datuk Seri Jailani Johari, who is also Hulu Terengganu member of parliament, State Assembly Speaker Datuk Mohd Zubir Embong, State Secretary Datuk Wan Nawawi Wan Ismail and state leaders.
The Prime Minister and his entourage arrived at the expo site in MyBAS buses and stayed for about 30 minutes at the 'Sentuhan Rakyat' booth where consumers were seen buying daily necessities such as onion, sugar, rice and cooking oil that were sold cheaper than the market price.
He then headed to the pavilion and visited the exhibition which also included the state government cluster, theatre hall and Shahbandar Square before witnessing the exchange of memoranda of understanding (MoU) between state government subsidiaries and firms involved in development projects in Terengganu.
The firms were Terengganu Incorporated Sdn Bhd (state government subsidiary), Malaysia Rail Link Sdn Bhd (MRL) and China Communications Construction (ECRL) Sdn Bhd, MRL and ECRDC.
Other firms involved were Terengganu Sillica Valley Development Committee (TESVAC), Petronas, TIM Group Resources Sdn Bhd and Terengganu International Industrial Park (TIIP).
Najib and his entourage also joined ECERDC in celebrating its 10th anniversary celebration at the site before moving to the main stage for the closing ceremony.
At the same event, he presented a mock cheque to Razif as a one-off payment for imam, bilal, 'takmir' and KAFA teachers and another mock cheque to Terengganu Religious Affairs Department commissioner Datuk Wan Mohd Wan Ibrahim for 'jurumandi' (people tasked with bathing deceased Muslims) and their assistants.
Najib also presented offer letters to participants of the Terengganu Graduates Transformation Programme, handed incentive fund aid to taxi and bus drivers, presented the offer letter for the special cluster housing 2017 scheme and a mock cheque for J3K Management Aid to Kuala Terengganu district officer Datuk Mohd Akil Mat.
The prime minister and his group then headed to the Gong Badak indoor stadium to attend the Perdana TTB wedding ceremony and reception with 111 couples before leaving. — Bernama
