Pandikar tells lawmakers not to express political disappointment in Parliament

KUALA LUMPUR: Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia has advised lawmakers against expressing their political disappointment in Parliament.
"For the last parliament sitting, you should express your disappointment during the election campaign, and not in the Dewan Rakyat," Pandikar said during the first day of the last session in the 13th Parliament sitting.
The Dewan Rakyat session will be held for 20 days starting from March 5th to April 5th.
The reminder comes after Pandikar's statement that he is "emotionally disturbed" by the behaviour and characteristics of lawmakers since he was elected as Dewan Rakyat speaker in 2008.
"We are humans, not robots, if they get emotional, I will get emotional too. It's not that we don't encourage emotion but it must be controlled.
"The lawmakers sometimes act differently (inside the hall) they talk bad towards each other, but outside they can drink coffee together and chill.
"It is just an act by the lawmakers. Inside (the hall) they argue, but outside they are good," he said.
Pandikar, who is speculated to contest in the upcoming general election, said a Dewan Rakyat speaker needs to "follow" the lawmakers "phase" in order to control the situation in the hall.
"If we don't follow the lawmakers phase, then how? … it (situation) will be off tune," he said.
