MCMC orders Malaysia Today to remove three articles

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) today ordered news portal Malaysia Today to remove three articles about Tan Sri Robert Kuok.
The commission informed the news portal that it had received complaints about the three articles.
In an email to the news portal, MCMC said the articles they wanted removed were "Robert Kuok Wants Chinese Rule In Malaysia", "Malaysian Insight Funder Fingered" and "Robert Kuok's Last Chance At Changing The Government".
It said that based on investigations carried out by the commission it was found that the articles had contravened Section 233 of the Multimedia and Communication Act 1998.
The commission informed the portal that they had until 10am Tuesday to removed the articles.
MCMC also reminded the portal that it had to ensure that any news published on its website did not break any of the country's laws.
