KUALA LUMPUR: The two-term limit for the positions of prime minister, chief minister and mentri besar as part of its Pakatan Harapan manifesto will only be applied after the 14th general election.
PH Secretariat chief Datuk Saifuddin Abdullah said this will be included in the coalition's election manifesto that will be launched tomorrow.
"However, this pledge of imposing the two-term limit only applies to the respective states where Pakatan comes to power," Saifuddin said after the pre-launch of the Pakatan Harapan manifesto at parliament building.
Saifuddin was explaining whether the manifesto would apply to Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, who has led the state for two terms and Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali, who has led the state for one term.
Saifuddin said the 200-page manifesto revolves round five main pillars, which are reducing the people's burden and cost of living, reforming institutions and policies, spurring a sustainable economy, giving rights to Sabahans and Sarawakians according to the Malaysia Agreement 1963 and creating a moderate and inclusive Malaysia.
"The is very comprehensive if compared with the previous Buku Jingga (Pakatan Rakyat manifesto) and in total we have 60 pledges that we aim to fulfil in five years. Ten out of the 60 pledges will be fulfilled in the first 100 days should Pakatan come to power," Saifuddin said.
