Habib targets RM2m sales from Penang exhibition

GEORGE TOWN: Local jeweller Habib Holdings Sdn Bhd plans to earn RM2 million in sales during its recent exhibition at Gurney Plaza last month.
Its managing director Dato Sri Meer Sadik Habib said the first ever exhibition in Penang which is also the hometown of the jewellery brand, was held to showcase its latest products and what Habib can offer especially during the festive season.
He said the 10-day exhibition showcased some of the finest products from Habib Group and also products from its partners Pandora, Ice-Watch, and Chantique.
"The collection is set to take one down memory lane, reminiscing the elegance of oriental women of the past and the jewellery that completed their looks. With 60 years of experience, our designers know what our customers want and we can offer our customers a variety of choices as well as great value for money", he told a press conference here.
Meer, the second generation leader of the family business, also pointed out that Habib plans to expand their exhibition to Johor, Kuala Lumpur and also Brunei.
Established in 1958 by Dato Mohamed Habib Abdul Latif, its first shop was located at Pitt Street, now known as Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling, and is still operating until today.
To date, Habib has more than 30 retail outlets across the country, including Johor Baru, Selangor, Terengganu, Kedah and Sabah.
