PORT DICKSON: The Sendayan Air Base project in Sendayan, Seremban has been completed, said Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.
However, he said the process of moving in Royal Malaysian Air Force personnel would be undertaken in stages.
"Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak has scheduled the visit the base on March 16," he told reporters here today when asked about the status of the project.
Earlier, Mohamad had attended the 85th Army Day celebration here. Also present was Army chief General Tan Sri Zulkiple Kassim.
The Sendayan air base replaces the Sungai Besi Air Base in Kuala Lumpur which has been taken over for development of the Bandar Malaysia project.
Meanwhile, Zulkiple said the exhibits and military displays during the celebration was the best platform for the people to better understand the role of the Army.
He said it also served to attract youths to join the force.
More than 5,000 people turned up to witness the celebration. — Bernama
