90% water supply restoration expected by midnight, early tomorrow morning: Syabas

KUALA LUMPUR: Water supply in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor is expected to be restored by 90% by midnight or early tomorrow morning.
Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas) said as of 6 pm, a restoration rate of 77% was recorded for the overall consumer account in the affected areas following repair works on the surge vessel system at the Sungai Selangor Water Treatment Plant Phase 3 (SSP3), Ijok, owned by Syarikat Pengeluar Air Sungai Selangor Sdn Bhd (Splash).
Syabas, in a statement today said as of 6 pm, the water restoration rate was 100% in Hulu Langat, followed by Kuala Langat (98%), Klang (86.1%), Gombak (78.2%), Petaling (57.5%) and Kuala Lumpur (52.5%).
The water supply disruption since March 6 was reported to bring misery to an estimated two million consumers in 427 affected areas. — Bernama
