KUALA LUMPUR: Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) has allocated RM500,000 for an upgrading of facilities and infrastructure at the Kepong FRI Market, which includes drainage system, wiring, air circulation and water supply pipes.
Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said the upgrading work at the market would benefit 74 traders as well as for public convenience.
"I was informed that the market has been in operation for more than 100 years. We'll do whatever we can to repair the market," he said after a visit to the Pekan Kepong People's Housing project (PPR) here today.
The upgrading work at the market is expected to begin next month and would take about three months. Tengku Adnan also said a multi-storey car park would also be built at the Pekan Kepong PPR and it would be able to accommodate 372 vehicles. — Bernama
