IT’S been a great start to the year for Resorts World Genting (RWG); from a massive Chinese New Year celebration to the momentous launch of an acclaimed cineplex. Now, Resorts World Genting is even home to two Forbes Travel Guide Star Ratings approved hotels.
Forbes Travel Guide is one of the foremost independent authorities of the world’s finest luxury hotels, spas and restaurants.
Ratings are evaluated based on graciousness, thoughtfulness and personalised services.
Using a proprietary algorithm that weighs service at 75% and quality of the property at 25%, inspected establishments are then graded into categories registered as Five-Star, Four-Star and Recommended places.
The Star Ratings first made its “entrance” as the Mobil Travel Guide in 1958. A Four- or Five-Star rating signified accomplishment for any establishment.
The 2018 guide marks Kuala Lumpur’s debut; only three hotels in this city have made it into the list, among over 1,609 properties located in Abu Dhabi, Amsterdam, Madrid, Vienna and other major cities around the world.
Currently the highest-rated Kuala Lumpur hotel on the list is Resorts World Genting’s flagship property Genting Grand Hotel.
Forbes Travel Guide gave the “luxury retreat outside of Kuala Lumpur” a Four-Star rating for its “plush accommodations, gorgeous views and friendly staff”.
It sang high praise for the hotel’s M Spa commending its Asian inspired therapies and dining options L’TITUDE lounge and The Olive.
Meanwhile, Maxims Hotel which is also under Resorts World Genting made the Recommendation grade. The guide reviewed it as “an out-of-this-world vacationing experience”. The auditing team were particularly impressed with the VIP-only suites which sit on floors 15 to 17.
The suites are conceptualised by a Malaysian design firm called Design Stream. The trio of swanky apartments on level 18 feature lush vertical gardens, works of art, designer furniture and sophisticated interior.
The e18hteen restaurant with its adjoining indoor swimming pool was a hit with the reviewers as well.
“Careful attention to all details – from considerate staff and respectful service, to plush accommodation and elevated dining – is in the DNA of Resorts World Genting,” said Resorts World Genting deputy chief operating officer of resort operations Paul Baker.
“To see our hard work recognised by the Forbes Travel Guide is gratifying, especially to our large staff team who go out of their way every day and every night, to provide the best service to our guests.
“This award truly belongs to them and I would like to say thank you to them for being the foundation on which Resorts World Genting’s luxury credentials are built.”
Added Resorts World Genting hotel operations senior vice president Datuk Edward Holloway: “To be included in the inaugural list for Kuala Lumpur and to have two of the three accolades, including the only 4-Star rating in Malaysia, is an affirmation that Resorts World Genting is hitting all the right notes for our guests. We see this recognition as an impetus to continue to improve and deliver the best hospitality experience in Malaysia.”
