30 drug addicts ordered to undergo treatment, rehabilitation

JOHOR BAHRU: A total of 30 drug addicts, aged between 25 and 55, were ordered to undergo a two-year treatment and rehabilitation on a voluntary basis.
The order was issued by Magistrate Aizureen Sahira Sauffee Affendi at a court here today under Section 6 (1) (a) of the Drug Dependants (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act 1983.
Those arrested would be placed at the Cure and Care Rehabilitation Centres in Kota Tinggi and Muar.
Seven other men would undergo monitoring and need to report to the Johor Bahru National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) every month.
Aizureen Sahira also sentenced three others between seven and eight months in prison for breaking the terms of supervision.
All the 40 men, were among 142 arrested, including two women in the 'Ops Sarang' operation at Kampung Melayu Pandan and Kampung Ubi on Feb 27. — Bernama
