Man and accomplice held over assault and abduction of woman

KLANG: Police have arrested a man and his accomplice who were allegedly involved in a case where a woman was brutally beaten and abducted by her husband at Taman Klang Jaya here last Thursday.
South Klang district police chief ACP Shamsul Amar Ramli who confirmed the latest development said police also nabbed two other suspects in relation to the case.
"They were nabbed in stages in our four-day operation since the day of the incident where the investigators also seized the vehicle involved in the incident, machetes and handphones," he said today.
Police earlier had widened their hunt to other districts to apprehend the suspects.
One of the suspects had been arrested previously for theft while the other suspect also has a past criminal record.
In the 9am incident, a video that went viral showed a blue car pulling up in front of the gate of the factory where the woman works. A man then got out of the car while another man grabbed the victim and forced her into the car.
The 42-year-old woman was seen fighting back but was overpowered by the man as he repeatedly hit the woman with a blunt object.
The second man, who was seen holding a parang, then opened the front passenger seat door of the car and pushed the victim into the vehicle.
The two, then bundled the woman into the car as she was still heard screaming for help.
The woman was later released and treated in hospital before being discharged.
The case is being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.
