KUALA LUMPUR: E-hailing service provider Grab Malaysia and Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTMB) sealed their year-long partnership to provide a convenient first and last mile connectivity for passengers on the country's main rail network.
In a memorandum signing ceremony held at KL Sentral here, Grab Malaysia country head Sean Goh said the partnership is about providing first and last mile connectivity for KTMB passengers.
KTMB CEO Mohd Rani Hisham Samsudin said the partnership with Grab provides an excellent transportation option for KTMB commuters.
"The last mile is important for commuters which we call connectivity, and Grab provides an alternative option for the commuters.
"Apart from establishing a network with local authorities, bus and taxi operators, Grab also provides the middle connectivity between our stations to public transport users," he said during a news conference today.
As part of the partnership, Grab will also provide discounted rides to and from the KTM Kuala Lumpur railway station for the upcoming KTMB Skypark Link Run on April 15.
This is in conjunction with the opening of a new KTMB station called the Terminal Skypark, and a new train service, the Skypark Link which will start operating in May.
The Skypark Link is a train service that will cater for passengers who need transportation to the Subang-Skypark Terminal.
