Undersea tunnel: Lim challenges Wee to name 'Corrupt' leader

GEORGE TOWN: Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng has challenged MCA deputy president Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong to name the state government leader allegedly involved in corruption or had received kickbacks for the undersea tunnel and project involving three highways.
He said till today, Wee who is also Minister in the Prime Minister's Department, had not identified the Penang politician.
Speaking at a press conference here today, Lim asked in which aspect of the project had the alleged corruption occurred as it (project) was by open tender.
The project encompasses the 10.53km North Coastal road from Tanjung Bungah to Teluk Bahang, a 5.7km Air Itam-Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu Highway bypass, as well as the 4.075km Persiaran Gurney-Tun Lim Chong Eu highway bypass.
The project includes the construction of a 7.2km undersea tunnel connecting Persiaran Gurney, here to Bagan Ajam in Seberang Perai. — Bernama
