PUTRAJAYA: Ten women from China were detained in raids on two massage centres in the Kuchai Lama area, Kuala Lumpur, conducted by the Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM) yesterday.
Immigration director-general Datuk Seri Mustafar Ali (pix) said an inspection revealed that those arrested had offered a body massage package together with sex massage with prices ranging from RM100 to RM150.
Also arrested were two Malaysian men who were supervisors of the massage centres for further investigation, he said in a statement today.
Mustafar said JIM also seized the documents and licenses of the premises which were locally owned, but in fact foreigners were found to be running and managing the businesses.
He said during the raid, JIM also found a gadget containing tutorials on massage methods including on sex massage that was feared to be detrimental to the health of customers.
"The inspection also found that most of the Chinese women detained have Resident Passes and Passes for Spouse of Malaysian Citizen but worked in the massage centres.
"These passes are applied for the purpose of working in this country and making lucrative incomes," he said.
In the meantime, Mustafar referred to the detention of a syndicate which falsified the Visit Pass-Temporary Employment (PLKS) Pass and Resident Pass two weeks ago whereby JIM found that most foreigners were willing to pay tens of thousands to illegal agents to get passes like Resident Pass and Pass for Spouse of Malaysian Citizen.
According to Mustafar, preliminary findings also found that the women paid local men to marry them for the purpose of getting a pass to stay and work in Malaysia but did not stay together.
"They only meet the men whom they married once a year for pass extension purposes," he said.
Mustafar said the detained women were suspected of violating the terms of the passes and the Immigration Regulations 1963.
