Nepalese man wanted in murder probe

GEORGE TOWN: Police are looking for a Nepali man to assist investigations on the death of an Indonesian woman whose decaying body was found in a cupboard in a house at Flat Green Garden, Air Itam here last Monday.
Timur Laut district police chief ACP Anuar Omar identified the Nepali man as Sadip Gurung, 27, who works at a factory in Bayan Lepas, and is believed to have been the victim's boyfriend.
He urged those with information on the man or his whereabout to contact Investigating officer ASP Mohd Khalil Khalid at 019-4116656 or the nearest police station.
The body of Santi Restauli Simbolan, 25, was found by Sadip's housemates y after they noticed a foul stench coming from the room.
Police believed the woman died three days before the body was discovered.
Meanwhile, Barat Daya district police chief Supt A. A. Anbalagan said 18 motorcycles which were parked at a housing area in Bayan Lepas were destroyed in a fire which broke out at about 8pm yesterday.
He said the motorcycles were old machines collected by the management of the housing area.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, he added. — Bernama
