GEORGE TOWN: Kenzon Yeoh who scored five As in his UPSR examination five years ago, has done it again by becoming the top disabled student in the country following the release of the SPM examination results yesterday.
The visually impaired student who scored an impressive seven As, is the best SPM student for SMK George Town, surpassing his able-bodied schoolmates.
Yeoh's achievement has been recognised by the state government who presented him RM500 for his academic achievements.
At today's ceremony, Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng urged Yeoh to say a few words as his proud parents Yeoh Chin Yeau and Thee Buh Pung looked on.
In a brief speech, Yeoh said he aspired to become a computer programmer when Lim asked him why? He said he wished to help other disabled folks, prompting a round of applause from those present.
Yeoh added that his immediate plan was to enrol in form six to continue his studies.
Earlier, Lim told a press conference that Yeoh's achievement was something which the state should be proud of, adding that it serves as an inspiration for other students to emulate Yeoh's feat.
