TASEK GELUGOR: Umno Tasek Gelugor division chief Shabudin Yahya said he is ready to defend his parliamentary seat of Tasek Gelugor in the14th General Election (GE14).
He, however, said the final decision made will be the Prime Minister's prerogative as the Barisan Nasional chief.
"If the leadership give me another chance, God willing I will defend Tasek Gelugor," he said after a community event at Kubang Menerong, near here yesterday.
Prior to becoming MP, Shabudin was a former Shariah judge chief and a two-term state assemblyman.
In the 2013 general election, Shabudin won the seat with 3042 majority votes in a three-cornered fight involving BN, PAS and an independent candidate.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi during his working visit to Kepala Batas last Thursday said Tasek Gelugor was one of the parliamentary seats that BN can retain.
He said there is also good chance that BN can take over the state in the upcoming general election.
