GENTING HIGHLANDS: Police said a man who crashed a four-wheel drive pick-up truck into a memorial hall of Genting Highlands founder Tan Sri Lim Goh Tong on Friday is believed to be mentally unsound.
Bentong police chief Supt Yusuf Unis said today investigations showed that the suspect who is in his 30's and is from Bukit Tinggi is believed to have a mental ailment.
"We are yet to know if he was drunk or under the influence but his blood samples are being tested at a hospital to determine this. We believe he was mentally unsound," he said.
Yusuf said it is yet to be ascertained if the truck belonged to the unemployed suspect.
At 4pm on Friday, the man crashed into the Lim Goh Tong Memorial Hall with the truck before it came to a halt on a stairway.
Despite being warned and ordered to stop the truck by police and security guards, he continued attempting to drive the vehicle up by revving his engine but failed to do so.
