PETALING JAYA: The war of words between MCA and DAP over the undersea tunnel continues, this time over another photograph of Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng with a man resembling the "Datuk Seri" being investigated by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).
MCA Publicity spokesman Datuk Seri Ti Lian Ker said the photograph taken sometime in August posted by a Facebook user shows Lim and the "Datuk Seri" laughing while sitting together in the back seat of a car allegedly belonging to one of the bosses of the undersea tunnel and roads consortium.
He said in early March, the first photograph of Lim with the same "Datuk Seri" surfaced, this time with the both of them posing in a private residence without their shoes on.
The 37-year-old "Datuk Seri" is being probed for allegedly receiving RM19 million to "settle" the MACC's probe on the controversial Penang Undersea Tunnel project.
"When the first photograph emerged on social media, Lim conveniently brushed it off, claiming he has taken photographs with numerous personalities and denied having any dealings at all with the "Datuk Seri"," he said in a statement today.
Ti wondered what excuse Lim will come up with over the second photograph, adding that no one takes photographs with the same person "coincidentally" more than once unless that person is your friend.
He pointed out that in both photographs Lim is seen alone with the "Datuk Seri" in a residence and now, in a car.
Ti said MCA looks forward to Lim's denial and "explanation" for this second photograph.
The MCA publicity spokesman said photographs do not lie and sooner or later, the truth will be exposed and there are many unanswered questions pertaining to the controversial undersea tunnel.
Ti urged Lim to take up the challenge to debate with MCA deputy president Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong so all discrepancies regarding the undersea tunnel can be laid out in the open once and for all.
