Woman dies in three-vehicle crash

HULU SELANGOR: A woman was killed after she was thrown out from her vehicle she was travelling in following an accident at Km405.4 along North-South Expressway, bound to Kuala Lumpur here today.
In the 1.40pm incident, the accident also involved another car and a bus which were also south-bound.
The deceased, identified as Nurul Syafiqah Mohd Shaari, 23, was sitting at the passenger seat behind the vehicle with her sister and another woman who was driving the car.
Hulu Selangor district police chief ACP Lim Bhak Pai said the victims were travelling from Simpang Pulai, Perak to Klang Valley.
"The accident occurred when the victim's car was at the right lane and the driver suddenly decided to change to the left lane.
"The car lost control when they changed lane, spun and hit the highway divider. The deceased was thrown out of the car when the car they were travelling spun," he said today.
Lim said the victim was hit by another car driven by a 38-years old man.
A bus which was travelling along the road also couldn't avoid the victim's car and hit the front part of the car.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene and the body was sent to Kuala Kubu Baru Hospital for a post-mortem.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987 for reckless driving and causing death.
