Mass exodus from Kota Baru PPBM

KOTA BARU: The Kota Baru division of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) is practically crippled following 34 of it leaders and members jumping ship to PAS.
Among those hopping to PAS were its vice chief Mohd Che Hashim Che Min, Youth head Nik Mohd Adhwa Nik Haris and women's wing head Noormala Abdul Kadir.
Other leaders joining them were five committee members and 12 polling district heads.
Mohd Che Hashim said they took the action because they had lost confidence in the leadership of PPBM chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamed and the division's head Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Abd Rahman.
"We are disappointed with the attitude of Tun Mahathir who is seen as favouring DAP more than the interests of the Malays. In Kelantan, PPBM leaders are more interested in fighting for seats just like the leaders in their Pakatan Harapan partner Amanah than serving the people," he said.
He was speaking to reporters after handing over membership application forms of those who quit PPBM to join PAS to Kelantan PAS commissioner and PAS deputy spiritual leader Datuk Ahmad Yakob, who is also Kelantan Menteri Besar, at the MB's official residence here today. — Bernama
