KUALA LUMPUR: Heavy rain and strong winds uprooted trees in Bangsar today, bringing traffic to a standstill on some roads.
The Fire and Rescue Department received a distress call at about 5.35pm and the team arrived at the scene near Angkasapuri along Jalan Pantai Dalam here within five minutes.
"A team of fire and rescue personnel from the Seputeh fire station was sent to the scene, but no one was hurt in the incident," a spokesman of the department said, adding that the rescuers were in the midst of removing uprooted trees that blocked the traffic flow.
The fallen trees also hit two vehicles which were parked adjacent to the tree.
Photos of the flood and the jam were shared on social media.
Meanwhile, the exit to Jalan Templer in Petaling Jaya here along the Federal Highway heading to Shah Alam was badly-hit by a flash flood again due to the heavy rain.
Muddy water covered the exit lane over almost a 200m stretch, restricting vehicles from using the road.
The road was covered with muddy floodwater, causing massive jams at the exit between Jalan 222 and Jalan Templer.
