SEREMBAN: Negri Sembilan Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan today denied that his speech at the launch of Barisan Nasional (BN) Youth Gempur Brigade recently was aimed at promoting the thug culture among members of the party.
Instead, he said the speech was aimed at boosting the spirit of the party machinery thus ensuring BN's victory in the 14th General Election.
"It was not my intention to promote thug culture and violence ... I just wanted to raise the spirit of BN Youth to counter all the slander (hurled against BN). Not to the extent of fighting with others ... that's not our way.
"I use a lot of analogies (including) (for example) to overturn tables … what I meant was to move the machinery and BN Youth to storm into places which have an issue that needs to be addressed urgently ... I want them to not sit still … not physically overturn the table," he told reporters here today.
As such, Mohamad tendered his apology should his speech have been misinterpreted. — Bernama
