MALACCA: Cuepacs has urged the government to ensure that the filling of posts at every agency, department or statutory body at both the state and federal levels reaches 100%.
Its president, Datuk Azih Muda, said the move was particularly important for the frontline posts to ensure the service delivery to the people would be carried out smoothly and efficiently as well as to enhance public confidence in the government's service delivery system.
"We received numerous complaints regarding insufficient filling of the posts faced by various government agencies, local authorities and statutory bodies at federal and state levels, at only around 85% to 90%.
"This is due to various factors, particularly retirement and it should be taken seriously by personnel at the Public Service Commission and the Public Service Department who are responsible for the appointment of employees, as it will cause inadequate workforce, thereby affecting overall performance and productivity," he said here today.
He was speaking to reporters after attending the dialogue with the Federal Agricultural Marketing Authority Employees Union (Fama Kekaf) members for the Southern Zone.
It was also attended by Fama Kekaf president Mohd Hamidi Saleh. — Bernama
