Lim calls on EC to explain redelineation report

GEORGE TOWN: DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng wants an explanation from the Election Commission (EC) over the differences between the redelineation report and the earlier recommendation for the redelineation exercise.
Lim said that for several states, the redelineation exercise by the commission has raised questions over the report which was eventually submitted.
"I have not seen the report yet as I was not there (in parliament) yesterday, but from what I know, it was available online," he said during a press conference today.
The Bagan MP also said the EC should clarify the differences and why there is a sudden change in the report.
Yesterday, Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Pandikar Amin Mulia told MPs that the report which was placed on their table, was embargoed until March 28.
The soft copies however, were uploaded onto a website and made available online.
Meanwhile on a separate issue, Lim has challenged MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai to a debate.
Lim said the debate will be focused on the Penang Undersea Tunnel and on 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB).
He believes the debate will invoke public interest and both him and Liow can come clean on the important issues.
"I invite him to a debate, if he accepts then we will make further arrangements," he added.
