Give us a chance to rule for one term, pleads PAS

SHAH ALAM: PAS has pleaded voters to give the party a chance in the forthcoming elections, and vote them in as federal government for at least one term.
Selangor PAS commissioner Sallehin Mukhyi said the rakyat has already had the experience of being under the rule of the two Prime Minister candidates from Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan, and none from PAS yet.
BN President Datuk Seri Najib Abdul Razak is the current prime minister and Pakatan Harapan chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is the opposition coalition's choice for the post should it gain power, and had served the country for 22 years previously.
"The only one that the rakyat has not had the opportunity to be under with is a prime minister from PAS. For this, we hope for your help.
"We are asking the public to give us one chance to serve for at least one term, and you will see what we will be able to do and offer. We will use our chance to do our best.
"If PAS fails for this one term, then you can vote another party in the next elections," he said during a Selangor PAS national unity luncheon dialogue, here, today.
Also present was PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang.
Taking a dig at Mahathir, Sallehin said unlike the veteran statesman, PAS' offer for the prime minister candidate was much younger, and that their machinery was also younger and more energetic, comprising people of different races.
The Sabak assemblyman said in Selangor especially, PAS aims to educate the public that the party was not only for Muslims, but one that caters and listens to all races and religions.
"In the eyes of Islam, non-Muslims must be given respect too. We are not enemies. We want to educate Selangor citizens that the Chinese, Indian and others are our friends and families too," he said.
